South Point Subdivision, Post Construction Video – October 2020

Elgin, Kane County, Illinois
South Point Subdivision
Post Construction Video
October 2020

This project required ALL PRO USA to head out to Elgin, Illinois which is in Kane County. They asked us to come out to a job site that they would be working on for an extended time. The project site is a new housing plan of town homes that is being built in South Elgin. This company is responsible for the curbs, paving and the aprons throughout the plan of houses that is currently being built up. They asked to capture the conditions of the work they had down so far with our cameras to give them documentation of what it looked like when they were done. This was to help them should something happen while the other contractors were working on the construction of the houses and any other work that would be happening during the building up of this neighborhood. The team on the ground for ALL PRO USA took their time to ensure proper documentation of the work that had been done.

This particular project was shot using two different types of video cameras. The first one was a Panasonic 4K CX 350 Video Camera. This camera gets mounted to our RAM 1500 truck and is then connected to a controller and a monitor inside the cab of the truck. The camera operator can then easily manipulate the controls of the camera as well as ensure we get the shot we need using the handheld monitor. The other member of the team is then focused on the safe operation of the vehicle. The team captured shots of each of the road surfaces that had recently been paved. After completing that documentation the team then turned the camera to the side to look at the curbs in both directions down these streets.
Lastly, the team then utilized a handheld camera for yet another perspective of all of the curbs throughout the neighborhood. This camera was our Nikon Z6 Mirrorless camera, which was mounted to the DJI Ronin Gimbal. Using this system the team then walked the entire route of the project that had been completed. The team carefully moved along the curbs and got the areas that were blocked from vehicles that were parked in the road. Since these vehicles were there the truck mounted camera could not properly document these areas. This handheld perspective allows us to get close to the subject and provide crystal clear shots of the job site to the contractor. As with every job once we returned home we worked to get the footage edited and to the contractor. We provided them with a digital version hosted online as well as two USB drives that they can keep on file should they need them.
