March 2020

We have done projects in Washington D.C. and other cities for the past five years with several contractors. This project required ALL PRO USA to document the entirety of the proposed project path by the contractor. They would be connecting two substations in Washington D.C. that would cover about 73 blocks. When it was all said and done covering both sides with video and photos we traveled about 146 blocks for video and photo. There were several streets that would need documentation before the start of the project. Some of the notable ones to mention were Georgia Avenue NW, New Hampshire Avenue NW, Missouri Avenue NW, and Riggs Road NW.

VA Construction Video

Across Virginia, ALL PRO USA is the contractor's choice for Construction and Pre Construction Video and Photography including Road Videos, Aerial Drone Coverage and Progress Video of Worksites.

We've recently completed projects in Williamsport, Alexandria, Fairfax, Blackstone, and more.

Georgia Avenue NW Sidewalk

The focus of the video was to document the road surface, sidewalks, curbs, culverts, retaining walls, utilities and landscaping along the proposed construction path for the addition of this new electrical line that would connect the two substations. ALL PRO USA documented each section of the project in a logical manner using a two man team. By documenting the project in this way the contractor has a cohesive package that can be watched from start to finish to see all of the areas within the limits of disturbance or jump to a particular residence or intersection along the proposed path. Due to the nature of this project we took care to ensure that each street had dedicated videos and photos that the contractor could review.

New Hampshire Avenue NW Sidewalk

With the team working on the streets of Washington D.C. safety was a top priority for both members of the team that were working the job. Each of us had high vis vests and hats on, this project did not require hardhats but they were packed in the truck should they become a necessity. We also had the proper labels for the vehicle to notify traffic that a survey was in progress and a flashing light to make the truck easier to see. For this project we used our truck mounted camera and top of the line Cannon DSLR and Nikon Mirrorless cameras to document the required areas.

6th Street and Eastern Avenue Sidewalks

We faced a couple challenges as a team on this particular job, but both were overcome by experience and some on the job ingenuity. The first challenge was the documentation of the sidewalks. Normally we prefer to use our truck mounted camera method for a terrific angle to the shot. There were several cars parked along sections of the route that we were covering. We decided to implement a multicamera setup to properly capture what the contractor needed. One person of the two man team operated the truck with the camera, while the other camera operator used a handheld gimbal with a mirrorless camera mounted to it to capture the sections the truck could not due to parked cars

Riggs Road - Medians and Fastlanes

The other challenge that we faced was this project was large. There was no way around that, the substations that were being connected were far apart. This first challenge was one that we solved quickly, it was making sure that we shot everything in a way that would make it easily identifiable of where we were and what we were looking at for the contractor. This meant that they would have an easy time interpreting exactly what leg of the job they were viewing.
